Ensembles:
- Duets (2 persons),
Small ensembles (3-5 persons), Medium ensembles (6-12 persons) and large
ensembles (13-20 persons). Duets may use 2 judges, if performing in solo
area -if so tally like solos.
- DUETS, SMALL,
MEDIUM & LARGE ENSEMBLES will each have 2 comment tapes, three score
sheets and separate results envelopes from the other events. Divide your
tally sheet off as needed to clarify the different sizes of ensembles
(small, medium, large). There should be three judges with three score
sheets. If there are only 2 judges average the scores for your divisional
rating. Place the Judges' total score and the overall Divisional rating
below the judges' individual scores. Each group will receive individual
ribbons for their rating. (Duets may use 2 judges and two talk tapes, if
performing in the solo area -if so tally like solos)
- Watch for the
number of performers in each ensemble since it will vary from group to
group; mark on the outside of the results envelope to include ribbons as
needed.
- If there are at
least 5 groups entered in each age division, you may select a Best In
Class per classification. If there are less than 5, they must receive 93
above from each judge, At awards ceremony Duets, Small, Medium & Large
Ensembles "Best In Class" receive silver tray. All results
packets should be put in the results sacks.
- If there are
close scores and a large representation in the division, you may award
more than one BIC or runners-up. The BEST IN CLASS award goes to goes to
the DUET, SMALL, MEDIUM & LARGE ENSEMBLE with the highest total score
from all judges. Mark the BIC column on the tally sheet, and record on the
FINAL AWARDS SHEET. If there are at least 5 teams in each high school size
category, you may award BIC to HS Pvt, Sm, Med, Lrg Schools. If less than
5 in a division, they must earn a 93 or above from each judge to receive
BIC.
- After the last
group goes on, go down with the Final Awards Sheet and begin to organize
the silver trays and insert plates as needed.
