Tally Administrator Q&A's

Officer Tally:
The officer division allows officers to enter all categories jazz, hip/hop funk, kick, prop, novelty, military, pom, lyrical, modern, open, coed) Therefore, the tally process for officers will parallel the team tally procedures.

- Each judges score should be written in under the category competed in. Then total the judges score, place that total underneath, and write in divisional rating (I, II, III).

- Make sure to divide off your tally sheet according to classification. DO NOT group all officer groups on the same page.

- After the conclusion of officer events, you may total up each officers scores to come up with Best In Class.

- Officers receiving 90 and above from all judges in all categories receive the AWARD OF EXCELLENCE OFFICERS (this is the same as Gussie Nell Davis for teams), each officer receives a ribbon for A of E (no medals). Mark this in the A of E column on the tally sheet and fill out the trophy form accordingly. Make sure to keep count of the number of officers in each group. Mark " A of Et" on the outside of the envelope and highlight.

- The officer group with the highest total score in the best three categories receives the BEST IN CLASS OFFICERS (BIC). Mark this in the BIC column on the tally sheet on record on FINAL AWARDS SHEET. Do not mark this on the envelope.

- If there are less than 5 officer groups in a division they must earn at least a 93 from each judge to earn BIC.

- The results packets should be filed in the Team Bags behind the awards table and a " Trophy Results " form should be filled out for each officer group indicating divisional rating and A of E.

- The judges MAY elect to award JUDGES AWARDS and BEST OVERALL (choreography, precision, presentation, technique) AWARDS to deserving officer groups. Use good judgment based on the representation in each category jazz, kick, prop, etc.) to encourage the judges selection. Make sure to see that there is a good representation of school size, age group, etc.

- Officer groups should receive a Trophy with an insert plate on it. All trophy plates for officers go on the trophy.

- As soon as the last group performs in your area, go to the awards table and begin to count and assemble awards for this area or, if you have an assistant, that person may go over and start putting insert plates on the trophies as needed.

- At awards ceremony "Best In Class Officers" receive an acrylic Star award.

- See TEAM TALLY for other references.

Each group will receive individual ribbons for their rating. (Duets may use 2 judges and two talk tapes, if performing in the solo area -if so tally like solos)

- Watch for the number of performers in each ensemble since it will vary from group to group; mark on the outside of the results envelope to include ribbons as needed.
