Our Weekly Message for December 2, 2003

Greetings special friends,

I hope that all of you had a great Thanksgiving holidays and ready to finish the next few weeks until Christmas break. This week I am headed to Iowa for the Iowa State Drill Team Association State Championship in Des Moines, Iowa. It is the largest state contest in the country with over 230 teams competing for state titles.

Many of you as students will be doing research papers in the coming year for various classes. We have had so many students request information and articles on Gussie Nell Davis, the First Lady of Drill Team and founder of our company. We now have many of those articles online on our Education Support Page. Don't forget to take a look!

Here are some thoughts for the day from "Bits and Pieces":

"Only love can be divided endlessly and still not diminish." Anne Morrow Lindbergh (1906-2001), aviator and writer

"We need to get worthy of our own selves and understand that no one is more deserving of our best behavior than we are." Rochelle Pennington, writer

"We have only this moment, sparkling like a star in our hand
and melting like a snowflake. Let us use it before it is too late." Marie Beynon Ray, writer

"Keep your eye on your heroes, not on your zeroes."
Robert H. Schuller, clergyman

This month is a special time for the En Croix groups that may be preparing their choreography of Praise Dance for Christmas Pageants in their community. If you would like more information about starting an En Croix group in your school or community, visit www.EnCroix.org.

Thanks to the many directors that have already pre-registered for 2004 contests. We are already well ahead of our projections for these events and cannot wait to see many of you. If you have not pre-registered for contest, directors can do so by visiting the Directors Corner.

This weekend will be our first weekend for One Day Dance Workshops in Kansas, Killeen, Houston and South Texas with many exciting new routines as well as auditions for Miss High Kick and All American. Visit our ADTS One Days page for more information on these workshops as well as the ADTS presents...Rockettes and Rangerette Revelations.

Below is a passage called "Moments in Life," sent to me by Linda Hall, owner of Happy Feet Boots. It starts with one of my favorite lines...."When God closes a door, He opens a window." I hope that this passage has meaning to you as it does for me. Have a wonderful week, and, as always, please keep in touch.

MOMENTS IN LIFE

There are moments in life when you miss someone so much that you just
want to pick them from your dreams and hug them for real!

When the door of happiness closes, another opens; but often times we look
so long at the closed door that we don't see the one, which has been opened for us.

Don't go for looks; they can deceive. Don't go for wealth; even that
fades away. Go for someone who makes you smile, because it takes only a smile to
make a dark day seem bright. Find the one that makes your heart smile.

Dream what you want to dream; go where you want to go; be what you want
to be, because you have only one life and one chance to do all the things you want to do.

May you have enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to make
you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human and enough hope to make you happy.

The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything;
they just make the most of everything that comes along their way.

The brightest future will always be based on a forgotten past; you can't
go forward in life until you let go of your past failures and heartaches.

When you were born, you were crying and everyone around you was smiling.
Live your life so at the end, you're the one who is smiling and everyone
around you is crying.

• Please send this message to those people who mean something to you (I JUST
DID); to those who have touched your life in one way or another; to those who
make you smile when you really need it; to those who make you see the brighter
side of things when you are really down; to those whose friendship you
appreciate; to those who are so meaningful in your life.

If you don't send it, don't worry, nothing bad will happen to you; BUT you
will just miss out on the opportunity to brighten someone's day with this message!!!

Don't count the years-count the memories...........

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take; but by the moments
that take our breath away!
