Each summer, the American Dance/Drill Team chooses a worthy cause to support and pay tribute. In the past we have participated in Cell Phones for Soldiers (old cell phone donations for American soldiers to use to call home), Operation Dream Seed (backpacks full of supplies for Afghan school girls), Casa Hogar (orphanage for girls in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico), and relief for dance teams affected by Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Ike. This summer, we are concentrating on the support of breast cancer research. We are asking teams to come up with their own special projects that will show support of breast cancer research in their own community. We will have several ways at camp to show this support as well prizes for teams that have raised the most money in their home towns. We want each team to submit their story and photos and we will select one team that will receive a $500 grant to apply to American Contest fees for 2011, as well as make a donation to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. |

American Dance/Drill Team® is "going green." Yes, for the past four summers, we have put our handbooks on a CD or USB flash drive for directors to put on their school and home computers. These handbooks include the Directors Handbook, Officer Handbook, Managers Handbook, Team Routine Notes and Officer Routine Notes. The Routine Notes for all camps are also linked to our Summer Camp page. We are hoping by eliminating the printing of over 300 pages of printing the handbooks, that we, in some way, are helping to save our environment and provide information that is easily accessible to both directors and students. |

Also new, two judges at camp will do audio comments along with a video of the performance on a USB flash drive you will get inside your results packet. Download an example. This can be viewed on any computer that has a USB port and Quicktime software.
