Our Weekly Message for August 20, 2003

Greetings to all of you!

Most of you are back in school this week after a great summer vacation. I hope that you are rested and excited about the coming school year. I am delighted to restart the weekly messages that will generally come to you each Wednesday. If you would like to resource the archives of past weekly messages and motivational quotes, visit our Education Support Page.

Here are some thoughts for the day from Jim Rohn about the road to success:

"You cannot speak that which you do not know. You cannot share that which you do not feel. You cannot translate that which you do not have. And you cannot give that which you do not possess. To give it and to share it, and for it to be effective, you first need to have it. Good communication starts with good preparation."

"Success is not to be pursued; it is to be attracted by the person you become."

"Success is not so much what we have as it is what we are."

"Average people look for ways of getting away with it; successful people look for ways of getting on with it."

We had a fantastic summer filled with successful camps. The routines were by far the best ever. I am sure that you will see many of them this fall and winter. The 2004 contests are already posted and directors can pre-register online on our ADTS Contest Page and Directors Corner. We received good news last week that the Nascar Race at Texas Motor Speedway is 2 weeks after Nationals this year....yippeeee!! No traffic and no struggling to get hotel rooms. Make sure that you contact ATS Travel this week about your destination for 2004.

We have heard from the Japanese national teams that they are planning a trip to America in March for our National competition in the Denton/Dallas area. Jean Richards, from Australia, just returned from judging in Tokyo with rave reviews of the Japanese teams. Don't forget to mark your calendars for summer 2005 for the International competition in Australia!

Linda Lewis Hall from Happy Feet Boots sent me the "truisms" below. They had a great impact on me this week and I hope they will affect you the same. Have a wonderful week, and, as always, please keep in touch.
