Our Weekly Message for October 30, 2002

Greetings friend,

Football season is winding down for some and gearing up for play-offs for others. Many of you will be looking ahead for new routines for play-offs, pep rallies, contests and spring shows. You can resource some quick material through our inventory of over 200 routines on video at our web site. Delivery is usually 10 days or less.

Don't forget that One Day Dance Workshops are just around the corner. They can give your team that added spark to carry them over into the new year. Learn high impact new routines, build on technique and audition for Miss High Kick.

We just visited with the Kilgore Rangerettes this past weekend at their homecoming. Mark your calendars now for not one, but two: Gussie Nell Davis Dance Classic's held February 1st (Junior teams and Sr. Private teams) and February 22nd (high school teams). Each team will have a Rangerette as their personal escort for the day and all teams will see the famous Rangerette finale' number from Revels on stage in Dodson Auditorium at the Awards Ceremony. Visit our 2003 contest site for more information on these and other contests.

Here are some thoughts for the day on Communication:

“Learn to express, not impress.” -- Jim Rohn

“If you can stand up and speak eloquently with confidence, or at least stagger to your feet and say anything at all you will be head and shoulders above your competition.” -– Patricia Fripp

“Accept complete responsibility both for understanding and for being understood.” -– Brian Tracy

“Communication is really all anyone ever gets paid for ultimately ... and if you cannot effectively communicate ... you will PAY ... not get paid...” -– Doug Firebaugh

If you are ever in need of motivational reference material, don't forget to visit our web site where you can connect to The Line Online and visit the Archives for the "Weekly Message" and have the chance to resource over 150 past messages with thoughts for the week as well as inspirational passages.

Since our industry is comprised of so many women, I though the passage below was appropriate for this week. Make sure to pass a compliment on to a friend or woman that has influenced you in a positive way this week.

Have a wonderful week, and, as always, please keep in touch.

WOMEN

They smile when they want to scream.

They sing when they want to cry.

They cry when they are happy and laugh when they are nervous.

They fight for what they believe in.

They stand up against injustice.

They don't take "no" for an answer when they believe there is a better solution.

They go without new shoes so their children can have them.

They go to the doctor with a frightened friend.

They love unconditionally.

They cry when their children excel and cheer when their friends get awards.

They are happy when they hear about a birth or a new marriage.

Their hearts break when a friend dies.

They have sorrow at the loss of a family member, yet they are strong when they think there is no strength left.

They know that a hug and a kiss can heal a broken heart.

Women come in all SIZES, in all colors.

They'll drive, fly, walk, run or e-mail you to show how much they care about you.

The heart of a woman is what makes the world spin!

Women do more than just give birth.

They bring joy and hope.

They give compassion and ideals.

They give moral support to their family and friends.

Women have a lot to say and a lot to give.
