Our Weekly Message for August 29, 2001

Greetings!

It has been a wet week here is Central Texas, however, it looks to clear out by Friday night football games when many of you will take to the field for the halftime show. Best of luck!

Here is a thought for the week from Jim Rohn's weekly letter:
========================================================
"You must take personal responsibility. You cannot change the circumstances, the seasons, or the wind, but you can change yourself. That is something you have charge of. You don't have charge of the constellations, but you do have charge of whether you read, develop new skills, and take new classes."
Jim Rohn

Many of you are starting new programs and helping with new clubs on campus. Don't forget to start an En Croix chapter on your campus. You can resource about this Christian Fellowship for Dancers at their web site: www.encroix.org

For help with your Booster Club, Fundraising Ideas, Motivation or Rehearsals, resource our Educational Support Page for over 50 helpful articles for you and your team.

Below is some great advice from Bruce and Stan's book "God is in the Small Stuff." Hope that you enjoy reading them or using them this week with your team. Have a wonderful and safe Labor Day weekend and, as always, please keep in touch!

EMBRACE ADVERSITY

• Convert your failures to successes by learning from them.
• Even when the situation seems to be at its worst, give it two more weeks.
• You will learn more from adversity than prosperity.
• Let your difficulties be opportunities for God's control.
• A thick skin and a short memory are the best weapons against unjust criticism.
• Courage is not the absence of fear, it is the ability to act in the presence of fear.
• You don't know you are fortunate until you are unfortunate.
• Difficulties are opportunity for growth. It you try to avoid all trials, you are simply arresting your development.

"Dear brothers and sisters, whenever trouble comes your way, let it be an opportunity for joy. For when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow." James 1:2-3 NLT
