Our Weekly Message for August 22, 2001

Greetings,

Labor Day is just around the corner and that means the first football game is near. There is excitement in the air for the first performance of the new season.

Here is a thought for today from Jim Rohn's weekly E-zine:

"As a leader you should always start with where people are before you try to take them to where you want them to go." Jim Rohn

From Steven Covey's
"Daily Reflections for Highly Effective People"

"Ideally, there is harmony, unity and integrity between your vision and mission, your roles and goals, your priorities and plans, and your desires and discipline. In your weekly planner, there should be a place for your personal mission statement so that you can constantly refer to it. There also needs to be a place for your roles and for both short and long term goals."

"The core of any family is what is changeless, what is always going to be there -- shared vision and values. By writing a family (or team) mission statement, you give expression to it's true foundation."

"Until a person can say deeply and honestly, 'I am what I am today because of the choices I made yesterday,' that person cannot say, 'I choose otherwise.' "
