Dear Friends,

We had a wonderful trip to Kilgore to see the fantastic Revels show presented
by the world famous Kilgore College Rangerettes this past weekend! Words cannot describe the excitement that the show instilled by reviewing much of the history of drill team and how the Rangerettes have impacted our industry. In addition, we would like to salute the many college dance teams around the US that have just completed their national competitions, spring shows and auditions (some are ahead). If you are interested in finding out more about the many college dance team programs, visit the DTDA.org web site and link to college drill teams.

This weekend I travel to Minneapolis, Minnesota, and leave the comfort of 80º weather in Texas for the snow of the great North! I will have to dig in the back of my closet for winter clothes I didn't get the chance to wear this season in Texas! The Midwest DTDA convention will be held there with directors from Minnesota and many bordering states. We are happy to announce that our 2000 Summer Camp Brochure was mailed today! Thanks to everyone for their patience in awaiting this important information. Remember that if you are interested in finding out more about our summer camps, please visit our web site or you can respond to this e-mail to request a brochure.

We are proud to announce that we have had well over 50,000 visitors to our web site this past year! We plunged over the mark this past week with our National Championship results posted. Remember that we have lots of support articles. Just visit our Educational Support page and find many links and references.
Remember the James Bowie HS (Austin, Tx) dance team in your prayers as they lost a team member this past weekend in a car accident. Please remind your friends and students to drive carefully and please make wise choices as we are approaching gradution, prom, etc. Corie died in a one car accident rushing to get home by curfew.

Kathy Hill sent me the passage written by Mother Theresa below. It has a
great deal of logic to it. Hope you have a great week and, as always, please
keep in touch,

The Best Way to Live
written by Mother Theresa

People are often unreasonable, Illogical, and self-centered;
Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, People may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives;
Be kind anyway.
If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies;
Succeed anyway.
If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you;
Be honest and frank anyway.
What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight;
Build anyway.
If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous;
Be happy anyway.
The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow;
Do good anyway.
Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough;
Give the world the best you've got anyway.
You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and God.
It was never between you and them anyway
