Our Weekly Letter for December 6, 2000

December greetings to everyone!

I had a wonderful time judging the Iowa State Drill Team Competition this past weekend and seeing over 212 teams perform and compete. This event will be televised on Iowa Public Television on Saturday, February 10th. It is quite an event with so many teams!

Here is a thought of the week from Jim Rohn:
"A good objective of leadership is to help those who are doing poorly to do well and to help those who are doing well to do even better."
His weekly messages are always inspiring.

This week we have deadlines for Aggie Dance Day that will be January 28th
with the Texas A&M Aggie Dance Team and All Star performance game on December 30th televised on Fox Sports Network. All of this information can be
accessed online at our web site on our Special Events page

There is another great passage on Empathy and Caring from Jim Rohn. Below that, Dr. Don Williams sent the amusing passage regarding the new school voice prompting systems. Hope you enjoy them as I did!

EMPATHY/CARING
By Jim Rohn

Show your contempt for the problem and your concern for the person.

Be sensitive to the plight of others. You have to know about the tragedies as well as the triumphs, the failures as well as the success.

How do you build a bridge between age 12 and age 40? By remembering.

One of the greatest gifts you can give to anyone is the gift of attention.

The more you care, the stronger you can be.

Don't operate on the heart with a hatchet.
