Snowflakes
Snowflakes falling all around,
Slowly, gently, hardly a sound.
Snowflakes dancing to a silent song,
Swirling and floating right along.
Lacy patterns, each unique in its own way,
Blanketing the ground in soft whiteness,
Making the night as bright as day.
Christmas comes in only a few days,
Will the snow last or will it melt away?
Snowflakes cold on my skin,
My hand reaches out to touch one again.
Snow rarely falls where I live,
To have snow every year, oh what I would give.
I look to the sky and pray to God above,
"Thank you, Lord, for this beautiful scene,
It is the last thing I expected to see.
No matter what else I may receive this year,
The presents from family that bring me cheer.
Thank you for letting the snowflakes fall,
This snowy night is the best gift of all."
