Our Weekly Message for January 14, 2004

Greetings special friends,

We had a great time visiting so many friends at the Texas Dance Educators convention in Houston. Congratulations to Jon Fisher, director of Round Rock High School Dragonettes, selected as Director of the Year. Also, congratulations goes to Mary Beth Kepper, director of James Bowie High School, selected as Lifetime Achievement Award recipient.

Here are some thoughts for the day:
##############################
"Nobody will believe in you unless you believe in yourself."
Liberace (1919-1987) pianist
##############################
"There are two ways of exerting one's strength: one is pushing down,
the other is pulling up." Booker T. Washington (1856-1915) educator
##############################
"Treat your friends as you do your pictures, and place them in their best
light." Jennie Jerome Churchill (1854-1921) mother of Winston Churchill
##############################
"Minds are like parachutes – they only function when open." Thomas Dewar

With convention behind us, contests are ahead. We are off this week to South Padre Island for our Junior competition. Make sure to check the ADTS Contest Page later this week for a current schedule. If you have not registered for contest, directors should visit the Directors Corner to pre-register. Next week, watch for 2004 Summer Camp fees to be posted to the Directors Corner. You can view dates and locations on the ADTS Summer Camps page.

There are several workshops ahead with the ADTS presents...Rockettes, also the Kilgore Rangerette Revelationsand other ADTS One Days. Make sure to pre-register online today.

As we are opening 2004 with a bang and stress may be already building, I though that a passage with humor would make your day as it did mine today. Below is some sound advice that everyone could use.

Have a wonderful week, and, as always, please keep in touch.
