"We Americans of today, together with our allies, are passing through a period of supreme test. It is a test of our courage–of our resolve–of our wisdom–our essential democracy." Franklin D. Roosevelt

"Events have brought our American democracy to new influence and new responsibilities. They will test our courage, our devotion to duty and our concept of liberty." Harry S. Truman

Teamwork can be the essential to success in any instance. Fred Roach, a successful home builder in the Dallas area wrote a book of wisdom to his children, "Let's Talk," that has a great passage on the value of teamwork. I hope that you can share this message with your team, office or friends.

Have a wonderful week and, as always, please keep in touch.

Teamwork
from "Let's Talk" by Fred Roach

As you look at most types of organizations, you quickly see the need for teamwork. Teamwork requires individuals to give up some of their individuality for the sake of the team. In this, both the individual and the team benefit.

An effective team pulls together the best traits of its members to accomplish the maximum good for the group. Of course, you have to be farsighted. The younger team members need to be trained for the long-term benefit of the team.

The church is a good example of a God-ordained team at work. The Bible teaches the need of everyone to use the gifts God has given them and not to worry about the gifts we don't have. School is another type of team effort–different in nature, but still a team. The same is true of the family.  Learn to assert yourself as a team player. Work with those around you.

You need them, and they need you.
